6 weeks. Wednesday evenings. Commencing 27th February.
This accessible course is suitable for all levels of students, whether you are new to meditation and not sure where to start, or you have some experience and wish to learn new skills to enhance your practice.
Together we will explore a variety of straight forward, simple and effective techniques rooted in ancient yogic traditions to prepare our bodies and quiet the mind to effortlessly ease oneself into a deeply relaxed meditative state. During this comprehensive course you will gain confidence in practicing various approaches to meditation and also find inspiration to commence a daily practice to benefit your health and wellbeing.
Your teacher, Phoebe Joel, knows first hand how meaningful, beneficial and life-changing meditation can be. She also appreciates that the nature of modern life is extremely busy, stressful and demanding and one that leaves little time to nurture and connect with our true selves. With these factors in mind, her approach to teaching meditation has an experiential emphasis in order for you to quickly build your confidence and equip you with a diverse range of tools to make meditation easy and effortless in our increasingly hectic lives. She has a knack for demystifying the science behind the ancient techniques she shares, so expect to gain a thorough understanding of the inner workings of all the methods covered.
This in-depth exploration will cover many accessible avenues into the practice of meditation including a comprehensive set of preparatory steps to lead you into a place of stillness. This will include gentle pre-meditative asana, pranayama (breathing techniques) and visualisations. Each week you will be introduced to a new set of techniques, so you will gradually build a diverse repertoire of skills to take home and practice.
*No prior yoga or meditation experience is required*
